About Phil Belair
Phil Belair has a passion for landscape painting; primarily watercolors focused on scenes from Wisconsin’s woods and waters. He also has a love for painting puppy portraits and whitetail deer that come for a visit in the garden. After working more than 20 years in Milwaukee's Creative Advertising and Design professions, Phil followed a call to to teach at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. He taught Communication Design there for 15 years, and retired with the honor of Professor Emeritus.
He now devotes his time to painting mostly watercolor landscapes, although still works in oil and acrylic occasionally for larger paintings. He really enjoys painting portraits of cool dogs from the wonderful reference photos provided by their owners.
